Tips for Industrial Air Compressor Service and Maintenance
March 13, 2013

If you are using an industrial air compressor and industrial air compressor accessories for your business, you should be aware that there are necessary steps and actions that must be performed on a regular basis to ensure that it will work smoothly and properly all the time. Any problem with the machine might just cause a lot of troubles and delays which are definitely not good for making profits. Here are some tips to consider when it comes to industrial air compressor accessories and maintenance:

Read the manual
First things first - and you should definitely remember to read the manual of your compressor. This way, you get to learn more about how it works, the proper functions and how to maintain it. The manual will also tell you everything you need to know about the product's warranty. Read and understand it carefully to avoid doing anything that will make it void.

Assign daily inspections
This is highly recommended to make sure that the air compressor is working properly before using it. This will also give you a heads up should you need to schedule an emergency industrial air compressor service at once. Remember that even the slightest issue or abnormality can eventually lead to a more serious problem, so it is important to know if something is not functioning well.

Weekly Maintenance
Aside from performing daily inspections, there should be a weekly maintenance scheduled for your industrial air compressor service. This way, you can allot longer hours for inspection, making the maintenance team or the person in charge pay more attention to the machine. Some of the things to note and inspect are: pressure relief valves, air leaks, coolers, compressors, air intake filters and lubricant.

Get a professional team or company
Aside from performing inspections and maintenance on your own, it is also essential to have a professional regularly provide you with an industrial air compressor service. There are obviously some things you might not be able to understand and handle on your own, and it is always best to seek professional help to prevent further damages.

I disagree - it's a waste of money to have a scheduled industrial air compressor service. Jim, the fact that your compressor worked for 8 years is because that's how long it should be working (unless it's some cheap model of course). I haven't had trouble with my air compressor in over 5 years, and I never got an air compressor service plan.

Farid, it's normally both. You need scheduled industrial air compressor service, otherwise you'll have to make a lot more emergency calls (and those are way more expensive!). I have scheduled service every 6 months (though I will be switching it to once a year - our compressor isn't under that much pressure), and my compressor has been working well for the past 8 years!

How does an industrial air compressor service operate? It's on demand or do I have to schedule you for regular checkups?
